CHOPIN 200 is a weeklong series of performances celebrating the 200th birthday of Romantic classical composer Frederic Chopin. The festival features 200 hours of the composer’s works performed on four pianos by an eclectic line-up of pianists, including NPR From the Top host Christopher O’Riley; Claire Huangci, winner of the Chopin Competition of Europe; Kimball Gallagher; Vassily Primakov; and the winner of the Chopin Competition in Miami (held the last week of February).

Aficionado Open Mic

9am–12pm Open call for non-professional pianists

Five extraordinary pianos are open for playing by students and aficionados of Chopin’s music. You are invited to play one or all grand pianos between 9am–12pm, on a first-come, first-served basis, March 1–5 as part of Chopin 200. Enjoy the opportunity to play these fine pianos: Sauter 200, Shigeru Kawai, Corning Steinway, Steinberg and Sauder Rondo.


No reservation necessary! Pianos will be in five locations throughout the World Financial Center Complex. Stop by any piano, first-come first-served, or signup on the waiting list. You can also pick up a map of piano locations at the info table in the WFC Winter Garden.
