Canstruction© is an extraordinary, annual design competition and the most unique food charity in the world. In over 150 cities around the globe, teams of top architecture and engineering professionals participate in contests to create enormous structures built entirely from full cans of food. Now in its 18th year, over 20 NYC entries vie for awards in categories including Best Meal, Best Use of Labels, and Structural Ingenuity. Leading up to Thanksgiving, these sculptural works are on view throughout the World Financial Center and then dismantled and donated to City Harvest for distribution to those in need.
One Can Make A Difference
Let’s beat last year’s total of 200,000 cans collected at the World Financial Center! Bring a can of high quality food (tuna, beans, vegetables) to the exhibition’s collection station located above Starbucks in the World Financial Center’s Courtyard.
