Cost: Free admission for exhibit; special events may have a fee
Ages: 2 exhibits are fine for all ages (2010 Original Art: Celebrating the Fine Art of Children’s Book Illustration, Summer Illustration Art Academy Exhibition), the other 2 may not be appropriate for kids.

The Honorable Mayor Michael Bloomberg, on behalf of the City of New York, will be proclaiming the second week of November as Illustration Week. A representative from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs will be presenting the Proclamation during the Summer Illustration Art Academy Reception at the Society of Illustrators on Friday, November 5 at 5pm.

A retrospective of Fernanda Cohen's commercial and personal work.

Summer Illustration Art Academy Exhibition and Reception
A gallery opening at the Society of Illustrators featuring the works of students from the Summer Illustration Art Academy; an NEA sponsored program that took place in July in collaboration with the NYC Parks and Recreation Department After School Program.

(Note: This may not be an open event, as a RSVP was required by Oct. 20th)

Illustrators Sketch Night at the Society of Illustrators
Illustrators will pose alongside professional models as the Dining Room transforms into a large sketch studio. The live jazz will be performed by The Half-Tones featuring Joe Ciardiello and Barry Blitt, award winning illustrators who are also professional musicians. Open to the public.
$15/$7 students
