The young Composer and music educator Angélica Negrón and her band Balún will present Painting with Sounds, an interactive audiovisual concert featuring live music and video for children of all ages. Throughout the concert the audience will have the opportunity to play their own instruments and sing alongside the band.
Make your instruments at home or school! Lesson Plans for children 5 years old and up are available online to download.
Angélica Negrón is a young composer and musician born and trained in Puerto Rico now living and working in Brooklyn. Drawing inspiration from old family pictures, floating soap bubbles, marine creatures, and puppets, her compositions combine acoustic and electronic instruments, often home-made, to evoke “a sense of quiet adventures that happen when you travel to an imaginary past.”
