6/13/11–6/24/11 NY Waterway's East River Ferry Launches Today with Free Service for Two Weeks!

NY Waterway’s East River Ferry will launch with full service on the morning of June 13, 2011 and will feature frequent, reliable service that connects Manhattan with various destinations in Brooklyn, Queens and on Governor’s Island. The robust nature of the service and the ever increasing popularity of Brooklyn and Long Island City makes this an attractive option for commuters, leisure travelers and tourists alike.

The East River Ferry will connect East Midtown at 34th Street in Manhattan with Long Island City in Queens, various points in Brooklyn, including Williamsburg and DUMBO, Governors Island and South Manhattan at Wall Street/Pier 11. Go to website for detailed map, schedule and more info.

East River Ferry features double-decker catamaran vessels capable of transporting 149 passengers and also featuring on-boat bike racks to transport a small number of bicycles along with their riders (small surcharge for bike-on-boat riders).


During the period of June 13– June 24, 2011, the East River Ferry will carry all passengers for free.
