Stave off the summer heat at this annual outdoor film series, now in its ninth year. This year's festival theme is music, with the following films being shown August 23–27: El Cantante, Bird, Dreamgirls, Shine a Light and, on the final night, a viewer's choice selection. Screenings will be held just north of the Sheep Meadow (enter the park at 72nd Street). Come early (gates open at 6:30pm) to snag a good seat. Go to website for film description.
