Acclaimed artist and children’s book author Faith Ringgold leads an intergenerational quilting program.
5pm – 8pm Families decorate a fabric square that reflects their family story of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Selected fabric squares will be sewn together to make a large-scale American Dream quilt that will be displayed at CMOM.
6pm Celebrate America with a patriotic sing-a-long.
6:15pm Faith Ringgold reads her award-winning picture book, Tar Beach. Book signing follows. (Books will be available for purchase.)

Learn about the ideal of basic rights in the Declaration of Independence. Create an American Dream Quilt expressing your vision of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
