Nueva York, an unprecedented exhibition presented by the New-York Historical Society and El Museo del Barrio, reveals the vital role that Latinos and Spanish-speaking countries have played across three centuries in making New York the most culturally vibrant city in the world.
VOCES Y VISIONES: Signs, Systems & the City in El Museo del Barrio’s Permanent Collection

This installation in the Carmen Ana Unanue Galleries, drawn from our Permanent Collection, features works with an urban sensibility that deploy pared-down building blocks of shape, color, and form to express revealing worldviews.
EL BARRIO TODAY Photo Contest

The results are almost in… Twenty-five semi-finalist works from our El Barrio Today photo contest will be on display in our Youth Gallery. December 18 will be your last chance to vote for your favorite photo that captures the heart and essence of El Barrio, and winners will be announced that evening!

Get ready for your close-up with family and friends at our holiday photo station. Which king will you dress up as? Once you're back home, you can view and share your photos online via Flickr.

Create your own maraca and crown to bring home, and then help us make more so that thousands of children can shake them during our upcoming 34th Annual Three Kings Day Parade.

Be whisked away by Mariachi Academy as they celebrate this festive season through popular music and dance.

Leave your young siblings at home! Come find your voice at this two-hour spoken word workshop led by super-cool performance poet Caridad de la Luz "La Bruja."

9th ANNUAL COQUITO TASTING CONTEST

The International Coquito Federation and El Museo del Barrio invite you to participate in this joyous Latino holiday tradition. Taste the finalists’ recipes from the Coquito Master Qualifier Series 2010, and add your vote. El ganador will be announced during a music concert in El Teatro. If you want to taste the best Coquito in town, you must show ID and sign a waiver. First come, first served basis.
