This spring's Free Teen Nights series, The Artist’s Life, will explore how artists live and work, and what inspires them. Film nights will focus on documentary and fictional narratives of artists’ lives, while art nights will range from studio workshops to discussions with artists and filmmakers.
On March 2nd, see the film screening of The Gates, 2005, directed by Antonio Ferrera, Albert Maysles, David Maysles, and Matthew Prinzing. This inspirational film traces artist duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s 25-year path through political, bureaucratic, and artistic criticism to the realization of their work The Gates in Central Park in 2005.
This is a drop-in program for teens. If you have a group, you must call in advance. There are no reservations. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of sixty participants for artist talks and 120 attendees for film screenings.
For more information, please call Teen Programs at (212) 708-9828 or e-mail teenprograms@moma.org.
