FlyNY is an international kite design competition open to architects, engineers, artists, students and children. Participants present their original kite designs at this first official kite flying event in the New York City parks. No prior experience is necessary.
Those not participating in the competition are welcome to come for the morning festivities, which will include workshops on kite-making for children and time to fly new creations! Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own kites to fly.

About Riverside Park: This popular 266-acre park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Gilmore D. Clarke and Clinton Lloyd, stretches along five miles of the Hudson and provides some of the best views of the river in Manhattan, especially from the bike path and the piers at 70th and 125th Streets. The park runs from West 62nd to West 158th Streets and includes monuments, memorials, gardens, clay tennis courts and a skate park.
