Master storytellers bring stories, fables, and myths to life. Sunita S. Mukhi performs “Kalahati: The Half Girl of Ma-Yi.”
For one day only, tots can see a fire-breathing dragon run loose in Battery Park—a fake one, at least. Sunita Mukhi, director of Asian programs at SUNY, reinterpreted a popular Asian folktale for this morning's show, emphasizing the message of girl power for more modern audiences. Little ones can watch fiesty Kalahati take down the fearsome beast before bonding with their peers at the nearby park post-performance.
