Street Games brings back the classic street games from the ’60s and ’70s and reintroduces them to a new generation with a modern twist! Pogo sticks, double-dutch, hula hoops, and yo-yos are just some of the activities that you and your family can try out to the sound of Motown, Rock N Roll, and Soul. Former New York Knicks John Starks and Walt Frazier will be on hand and there will be a performance by the Dance Theatre of Harlem. This free event is hosted by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the Walt Disney Company.
This year’s event will also feature skating boarding clinics and a Bringing Classic Back Art Competition to celebrate the essence of events, people, and activities in New York City during the 1960s and 1970s. To register for the Bringing Classic Back Art Competition, call (212) 360-1319 or complete the online form in the Registration section of the Bringing Classic Back Art Competition details page.
