Cosmic Cake: Join Museum President, Ellen Futter, and Hayden Planetarium Director, Neil deGrasse Tyson, for a look at the past, present and future of astrophysics at the Museum. Birthday cake will be served!
Science Talks and Tables: Meet Museum scientists and learn about their research behind the scenes.
Exploring Hubble: NASA astronaut Mike Massimino offers a look at deep space and the Hubble telescope. Learn about his recent mission to repair the invaluable piece of NASA equipment that recently celebrated its 20th year in orbit.
Iroquois Sky Stories: In this interactive, family-friendly presentation, Grammy award winner Joanne Shenandoah, Onieda, and historian Doug George – Kanentiio, Mohawk, introduce audiences to the “Sky Stories” of the indigenous Iroquois Nations through storytelling, music, and dance.
AstroCappella: Enjoy the marriage of science and music, developed by astronomers and educators and performed by the rocking a cappella group The Chromatics.
Space Panorama: Travel to the moon and back in this one-man show that is a sparkling recreation of the Apollo 11 mission and moon landing.
One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure: Sesame Street’s Big Bird, Elmo, and Hu Hu Zhu help visitors discover the sun, moon, and stars in this special mini-planetarium show.

Join astrophysicist and Hayden Planetarium Director Neil deGrasse Tyson as he hosts and moderates a panel discussion dedicated to the perennial question “Is Earth Unique?” With what we now know about the stars in our galaxy and the planets that orbit them, we can begin to address this question with informed debate.
Participants are selected for their diverse expertise in geology, biology, chemistry, and physics and for the ways they have applied these fields to address the past, present, and future of planet Earth.
