The Museum of the Moving Image reopens to the public on Saturday, January 15, 2011, with Celebrating the Moving Image, featuring 6 weeks of special screenings, exhibitions, workshops and live events. Admission is free on January 17, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Museum of the Moving Image is the country's only museum dedicated to the art, history, technique, and technology of the moving image in all its forms. Moving Image is a one-of-a-kind destination for audiences of all ages and interests, from connoisseurs of classic cinema to children and families to avid gamers.

Free for Museum members and children under five. Paid admission includes tickets to regular film screenings and access to all exhibitions (film screening not included with free admission on Friday). Admission is free for educators with valid ID.

Children under the age of fourteen must be accompanied by an adult of eighteen years or older. The Museum offers a free coat check service. Strollers, coats, umbrellas, suitcases, and large bags must be left at the coat check.
