The 1980 classic Fame chronicles the lives of several teenagers who attend a New York high school for students gifted in the performing arts. The film was directed by Alan Parker, and stars Eddie Barth, Irene Cara and Lee Curreri.

Come early to show off your best moves onstage at Tribeca’s Got Talent, an all-ages, open-call song and dance “competition” where everyone is a winner.

When the Drum Is Beating + Haitian-Caribbean-Jazz Performance by Septentrional

The Tribeca Film Festival premiere's the documentary When the Drum Is Beating which explores Haiti's complex past and present through the music of the country's oldest and best-known band Septentrional. The 20-member band has been making music for 62 years as Haiti's most celebrated big band. The inspirational documentary charts the history of Haiti from its triumphant independence from French colonialism to 2010's devastating earthquake—all set to the vibrant music of Septentrional and punctuated with its members' personal memories. Featuring a wealth of live rehearsal and performance footage, When the Drum Is Beating is a poignant and high-energy story of resilience.

Come see excerpts from the film and a very special performance from Haitian-Caribbean-Jazz fusion band, Septentrional.

The Muppets Take Manhattan + Kids Activities

The Muppets Take Manhattan is a 1984 classic, where Kermit and friends come to New York to get their musical on Broadway, only to find it’s a more difficult task than anticipated. They hit the streets of Manhattan trying to sell their show to producers, finally finding one young and idealistic enough to take their show. After several mishaps and much confusion, things begin to come together for them.

The family-friendly pre-show activities include face-painting, Muppet-themed trivia, sing-alongs and a DIY puppet-making station.
