Come join in the Icky Fest! Bugs may be icky, but we can’t live without them. Watch some worms, chomp on crickets, examine an owl pellet and more to find out why these icky, sticky critters are so important! Special appearance and meet and greet by Sid the Science Kid! Photos $6!
Boasting a variety of science-based activities, Icky Fest is designed to educate children about naturally occurring events that are usually considered gross, but are important to the cycle of life. During this unique weekend festival, kids become grossologists—scientific experts on all things slimy, yucky, and downright disgusting.

We attended last year’s IckyFest and highly recommend this event! We saw an awesome science show and got to see creepy hissing giant roaches, hairy spiders and even touched a snake. The museum itself is very interactive. There’s a good neighborhood nature exhibit/science area for kids to explore. Kids love the Brooklyn neighborhood area with mini pizzeria, markets and ethnic stores for the kids to play in. Make sure you visit the museum’s pet snake—a 20-foot long albino Burmese Python named Fantasia!
