Thriving merchant and shipping fleets made the Dutch prosperous, exposing them to goods from around the world and spreading their influence to distant lands, including New Amsterdam and New York. Come explore the culture and craft of the Dutch Golden Age on a tour of the exhibition Dutch New York Between East and West: The World of Margrieta van Varick with BGC educator Stephanie Stern. Then, have fun making maps, designing pottery, and going on a scavenger hunt.
This program is ideal for children ages 5 through 12 and their families. Stephanie Stern is gallery outreach educator at the Bard Graduate Center.
