How did a young boy from Chicago’s Jewish ghetto become the King of Swing and the most popular bandleader in the country? The “licorice stick” (clarinet) is back in the limelight when the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with host and clarinetist Victor Goines and a team of fleet-footed lindy hoppers swing, swing, swing this classic American story.
In this one-hour narrated performance jazz fans of all ages will:
* Sing and clap the infectious grooves of drummer Gene Krupa
