Note: Grand Central has three annual holiday activities to check out: (1) the holiday train show at the NY Transit Museum Gallery (Shuttle Passage), (2) the holiday fair with vendors selling beautifully made and/or unusual merchandise (Vanderbilt Hall), and (3) the holiday laser light show (described below). Take the kids to Pylones (Shuttle Passage), a store full of colorful, fun and kooky toys, gifts and miscellaneous things. For foodies and snackers, there’s a variety of treats to be found at: The Grand Central Market, the Oyster Bar (Lower Level), Li-Lac Chocolates (at the Market), Ciao Bella Gelateria (Lower Level Dining Concourse) and the world-famous cheesecake at Junior’s (Lower Level Dining Concourse), where you can also order regular food like burgers!
Nowhere on Earth is the holiday spirit as spectacular as in New York City. Visitors to Grand Central will delight in the high-tech winter wonderland images on the famed Astrological Ceiling in the Main Concourse 125 feet above their heads. Last seen in 2005, the Grand Central Holiday Laser Light Show is back by ‘popular demand’.
A series of six (6) individual six minute shows will be presented on what is perhaps the busiest room in the world, the Constellation Sky Ceiling of the Terminal’s Main Concourse
One show is presented every half hour, between 11:00am and 9:00pm through December 31st.
Ongoing until Thursday, December 31st, 2009
