World Science Festival Street Fair

The New York University/Washington Square Park area will become a science wonderland when the World Science Festival Youth and Family Street Fair returns to New York City on Sunday, June 6. This free, day-long extravaganza showcases the intrigue and pure fun of science with a non-stop program of interactive exhibits, experiments, games, and shows, all meant to entertain and inspire. Join us for a day of family fun. Some highlights of this year’s Fair include:

Discovery Theatre and Author’s Alley
Join some of today’s most dynamic science authors for a full day of readings, activities and presentations in Discovery Theatre, and meet distinguished authors one-on-one in Author’s Alley.

The BioBus

Explore the microscopic world inside the earthfriendliest bus and mobile laboratory. Meet Dr. Ben Dubin-Thaler and his BioBus, and say hello to our smallest neighbors—single-celled life forms. AGES 5+

Museum of Mathematics

Come visit the Math Midway! Solve the riddle of the shimmering solids at the Three Ring Circleous, and step right up for A-Maze-ing math mazes to explore and solve.

Franklin Institute Traveling Scientists

Can liquid nitrogen be used to make a cannon? Does air really take up space? This band of merry scientists will get to the bottom of these questions and more through a series of demonstrations that are certain to amaze.

NY Hall of Science

Create a rocket out of a straw, Explore the science behind bubbles, and Build your own marshmallow catapult to “make and take.”

Math for America

Math for America hosts an all day “sit-and-go” SET competition, an addictive and fast-paced game that challenges players of all ages to strengthen their skills of logic and visual perception.

Discover NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program

The Urban Divers EnviroMedia Mobile

The amazing traveling Nature and Maritime Museum on wheels will be featuring exciting exhibits that will inspire discovery and learning about the living nature of the region's urban estuary and urban watershed. It also showcases a maritime museum that presents over 100 artifacts that highlights and celebrates the social, economic and cultural history of NY Harbor, as well as our world beneath the ocean.
